Dear TCFSC Club Members

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the deadline to turn in your test session entry forms. PLEASE make sure that your forms have been signed by your coach!!! It is not important to have the test chair signature, as I will sign each one as I receive them. There are a few forms left in a white, manila envelope marked," Test Session Applications", in the back of the sign-in book at the rink. Forms can also be downloaded off of the club website.

I will not be at the rink tomorrow, but you can turn in your forms to my daughter, Annalisa Naccarato, or to Kim Chen. They will deliver your forms to me. Thanks everyone!

Dear Christmas Show Members,

Below you will find December 6 practice schedule:

7:15-7:35am "Adagio" (Kirsten, Masha, Megan, Emaline)

7:35-7:55am "Blues Brothers" (Chris, Austin, Philip, Andrew, Sasha, Julian, Wesley)

7:55-8:05am – Opening "Skater Waltz" (Annalisa/Soleil, Hannah/Claire, Mikayla B/Brittany, Kirsten/Megan, Emaline/Masha)

8:05-8:45am – Opening "Skater Waltz" (everybody)

8:45-9:00am – Finale "Nutcracker" (everybody)

9:00-9:30am – "One World" (all girls)

Location: notice that rehearsal will be in the Toyota Center. Please make sure you will arrive 15-20 min earlier in order to warm up, put skates on and be ready on time.  Use the Zamboni Entrance and locker rooms 1 & 3.  Enter the ice on the visitor hockey box.

Practice ice: just to let all skaters know that on Dec 6 we would have only ½ of the ice and ¾ will be covered (the same as during the show) so practice wouldn't be available. Please make sure skaters will warm up off the ice.

Dress rehearsal:

Saturday: Dec 6 - Opening "Skater Waltz" and Finale "Nutcracker" costumes on, please. I would like all skaters to wear their costumes for me to see and make changes if needed. Please make your skater to wear "Finale" costume under their "Opening" costume, so skaters wouldn't need to take their skates off in order to change.

Opening "Skater Waltz" – an old fashion 1930 (use your imagination)

Finale "Nutcracker" – skating dress or costume at your skater choose.

Saturday: Dec 13 - "Adagio" and "One World" costumes.

"Adagio" – costumes been determined

"One World" – costumes been determined

Looking forward to see you on Saturday!

Hello all show participants,

I would like to let all parents/skaters know a head of time in order for you to make arrangements if needed. I will schedule extra rehearsal on Wednesday December 17th from 5:15-6:30pm just two days before the show in order to go over the numbers several times and refresh skaters memory. Please make plans to attend, it's very important for your child to know what she/he have to do and be able to remember. I assume that it will be more than 1,000 people watching the show and my goal for all skaters to look good!

Thank you,

Alena

Club members,

After urging from the Learn To Skate director, the TCFSC Board of Directors has
agreed that the Club will reserve ice a few times per year for Club members and
LTS participants, specifically for Showcase style programs. The first of these
events will occur on Saturday, November 1st, from 3:15PM to 5:15PM.

These showcases can either be individual or small group programs. There's no
restriction to the showcase; skaters will be able to pick out their own music.
They may even choreograph their own programs.  Props are certainly welcome.
The purpose of this showcase event is to make skating fun as there is
considerable pressure with competition and the Ice Show only comes once a year.
This event will also provide an opportunity for families and friends to come see
the skaters throughout the year.

The cost to participate will be $10 per individual, $20 per pair, or $25 for
small groups. At this time the Club urges its members to contact their coaches
to work up a program (or work up your own) if you are so inclined. The Figure
Skating Club invites guests to join our skaters for a Friends and Family free
skate after the conclusion of these programs. A sign-up sheet will be posted at
Toyota Arena in the near future.

The next Showcase program will likely occur in the Spring.

If you have any questions about this event, please contact your coach or Kim
Chen at chenfamily@charter.net.

Thanks,

provide hamburgers and hot dogs.  We're asking members to bring side dishes to share.  Please note all members (both voting and non-voting) are invited to the meeting and BBQ.  Food sign-up is now posted at the rink.

(Many of you are wondering if you should even be there.  My personal opinion is that it's a good opportunity for your kids to spend time with other skaters.  I'd suggest coming for the BBQ and then staying a little while for the meeting.  We're not asking you to stay for the whole meeting and we will try out best to move fast.  You will get to see how the club operates and hear our progress for this past year.  The BBQ will be fun, the skaters get to vote for their peers for the skaters awards.)
